U17 Canadians Took Part in U17 Bauer Tournament

The U17 AAA Greater Vancouver Canadians took a break from the BCEHL schedule over the weekend, participating instead in the Bauer U17 Elite Tournament (Oct. 24-27) at the Summit Centre in Abbotsford, B.C. 


The tournament featured 16 top U17 clubs in a highly competitive event showcasing elite hockey players in the U17 age category. 


The Canadians dropped their first four games before earning a tie on the final day. Here are the results of GVC’s games:

  • Thursday, first game: RHA Kelowna 3, GVC 0

  • Thursday, second game: CDA 4, GVC 1 (goal by Henry Goldman)

  • Friday: SSAC 7, GVC 0

  • Saturday: VW Giants 6, GVC 2 (goals by Adam Allvin and Connor Ma)

  • Sunday: GVC 3, VI Royals 3 (goals by Adam Allvin, William Trolland, and Luke Wilson)


Offensively, Adam Allvin led the Canadians with two goals in five games, while Connor Ma was the leading point scorer with three points, including two assists. In goal, D’Angelo Brual posted a 4.14 goals-against average in two games, while Joshua Read had a 4.33 GAA in three games played. 


The U17 Canadians return to BCEHL action on Nov. 9-10, taking on the U17 Fraser Valley Thunderbirds in a home-and-home series, with Saturday’s game at the Richmond Oval at 2:30 p.m. The Sunday contest will be at Abbotsford’s Summit Centre at 2:30 p.m. as well.
