U15 Canadians Fall to Thunderbirds in Abbotsford on Saturday
Kayvon Salamatian scored his first goal of the season for the U15 AAA Greater Vancouver Canadians, but the team lost 7-1 on Saturday (Sept. 27) to the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds at the Abbotsford Centre.
Misha Shmitsman picked up the lone assist on the goal.
Salamatian and Shmitsman, newcomers to the GVC program this season, both previously suited up for the Vancouver Thunderbirds.
Goaltender Ryder Cook, who also brings experience from his time with the Vancouver Thunderbirds, started in goal for the Canadians.
The Canadians are winless in five games (0-5-0), with Jack Mah Ming leading the club with two goals and Salamatian having the team’s only other tally.
Next up, a rematch against the Thunderbirds (4-1-0) on Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Richmond Olympic Oval. Puck drop is at 4:15 p.m., with the game being the home opener for the club. The game can be seen on playfullscreen.com.
