U15 Canadians Get Goals from DeWolff and Wolf in Pair of Losses in Prince George
The U15 AAA Greater Vancouver Canadians lost both games of their weekend series (Nov. 22-23) in Prince George, as the Cariboo Cougars won 5-1 and 6-3.
The Canadians remain winless through 14 games is season.
On Saturday at the Kin Centre, Carter DeWolff scored in the second period and Ryder Cook made 33 saves, but the Cougars proved too much for the Canadians, scoring three goals of their own in the middle frame en route to a 5-1 victory.
On Sunday at the CN Centre, the Canadians got goals from DeWolff, Mattias Wolf, and Yugo Imoto, while AJ Kwok stopped 25 shots. The Cougars, though, scored three times in the first period and three more in the second in their 6-3 win.
With their goals over the weekend, DeWolff and Wolf are tied for the team lead among defensemen with three, one behind forward Kayvon Salamatian for the overall lead.
Through 14 games, Salamatian and Jack Mah Ming are tied for the team lead with seven points, and Magnus King has a team-high five assists.
The U15 Canadians’ next two games are on Nov. 29-30 against the Vancouver North West Hawks, with the Saturday contest at 2:30 p.m. at the Richmond Olympic Oval. Sunday’s rematch is scheduled to take place at the Hawks’ home rink, but the venue and time have yet to be determined as of press time. For the latest updates, please visit BCEHL.net.
