U15 Canadians Lose 5-0 to Thunderbirds on Saturday in Home Opener

The U15 AAA Greater Vancouver Canadians held firm through two periods against the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds on Saturday (Oct. 4), but couldn’t hold the line in the third, falling 5-0 at the Richmond Olympic Oval.

The loss came in the Canadians’ home opener and marked their sixth straight defeat, dropping the club to 0-6-0 on the season.

GVC goaltender AJ Kwok delivered a stellar first two periods, stopping 25 shots and holding the Thunderbirds to just two goals. Unfortunately, the game turned midway through the third period, when Fraser Valley struck for three quick goals to pull away.

Through six games, Jack Mah Ming continues to lead the club with two goals, while Kayvon Salamatian has one.

GVC will look to break out of its slump on Oct. 18-19 against the Valley West Giants in a home-and-home series at Planet Ice Delta and the Richmond Olympic Oval.
