U15 Canadians Manage 11 Goals in Weekend Series vs. Chiefs
The U15 AAA Greater Vancovuer Canadians scored 11 goals in their home-and-home series against the Vancouver North East Chiefs over the weekend (Nov. 1-2), but dropped both games by scores of 8-5 and 8-6.
In Saturday’s game at the Richmond Olympic Oval, the Canadians were within striking distance after two periods, trailing 6-5. Two Chiefs goals in the third, though, put the game away. On Sunday at Burnaby’s Scotia Barn, the Chiefs completed the sweep with a five-goal first period en route to the 8-6 victory. The Canadians received goals from Salamatian, Wolf, Carkner, Misha Shmitsman, James Wills, and affiliate player Lewis Goldwyn Ballard. Shmitsman also picked up two assists while affiliate player Peter Graffos also had a helper as well.
Through 12 games, the Canadians remain winless at 0-12-0. Salamatian leads the club with four goals, while Magnus King has a team-high five assists. King, Mah Ming, and Shmitsman are tied for the team lead with five points.
The U15 Canadians now have three weeks off from the BCEHL schedule. Next up for the U15 Canadians in league play, a road trip to Prince George to take on the Cariboo Cougars on Nov. 22-23.
