The U15 AAA Greater Vancouver Canadians opened their 2024-25 season in a showcase weekend with all eight BCEHL U15 teams meeting at the Langley Twin Rinks from Friday to Sunday, dropping three of four games played.

In their Friday afternoon opener, the Canadians lost 7-1 to the Okanagan Rockets, with Braelyn Nunley scoring GVC’s only goal on a penalty shot. Kazimir Patrick-Russell, along with 16 other players including Nunley, made his debut for the club in goal.

The Canadians played a pair of games on Saturday, earning a split. In the first game, Leander Han’s power-play goal late in the second proved to be the game-winner as GVC defeated Thompson 4-2. Nunley, Maxwell Clemens, and Jeffrey Yang also scored for the Canadians, and goaltender Andre Kwan picked up the win with a 26-save effort. In the second game on Saturday, Caden Chou and Noah Law scored third-period goals, but the team lost 3-2 to Fraser Valley. Brian Woolfenden assisted on both GVC goals.

The Canadians then closed out the showcase weekend on Sunday, falling 5-3 to the Cariboo Cougars. GVC held 2-1 and 3-2 leads on goals by Nunley, Woolfenden, and Koen Lee, but the Cougars scored three times in the final 4:49 to pull out the victory.

Through four games, Nunley leads the team with three goals, while Han and Woolfenden are tied for the lead with four points.
