U15 Canadians Season Ends After Dropping Four Games at Championship Tournament

The U15 Canadians’ 2025-26 season ended this weekend after the team lost all four games in the BCEHL’s U15 playoff tournament, which featured all eight teams in the divsion converging at Canlan Sports Twin Rinks in Langley.

The four-day, single-site event saw the Canadians lose all three preliminary games played on Thursday and Friday, and then their quarterfinals game on Saturday. 

On Thursday, the Canadians dropped 7-1 and 4-1 decisions to the first-place Rockets (the eventual champions) and fourth-place Chiefs. Tate Roden scored both goals for GVC.

On Friday, the Canadians fell 7-3 to fifth-place Cariboo to finish the preliminary round 0-3. The Cougars jumped out to a 7-0 lead after two periods before Carter DeWolff, Magnus King, and Misha Krutous scored third-period goals to break up the shutout. 

In Saturday’s quarterfinal round, the Canadians lost 5-1 to Fraser Valley, with Zonglin Li getting GVC’s only goal.

Yugo Imoto finished the playoff tournament leading the Canadians with three points, all assists. Tate Roden led the club with two goals. In goal, Ryder Cook and AJ Kwok shared netminding duties with each goalie getting two starts. 

Next up, the U15 AAA Canadians will enjoy the off-season before preparing to take the ice for the 2026-27 season.
