The U15 AAA Greater Vancouver Canadians closed out the home portion of their home schedule in style, beating the Vancouver Island Royals 5-4 in overtime on Saturday and 9-2 on Sunday.

Both games took place at the Richmond Olympic Oval, with the Canadians improving to 11-14-1-2 through 28 games on the season.

On Saturday, the Canadians jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period on goals by Jayden Rodas, Luke Wilson, and Jake Gustafson. The Royals then scored the next four goals (three in the third period) and were poised to close out the victory, but Noah Tait forced OT with the tying goal with only 1:26 remaining. Christopher Tang then scored the game-winner with only 38.9 seconds left in the extra period for the 5-4 victory. D’Angelo Brual made 34 saves for the Canadians (including 13 in the second period and six in overtime) to pick up his fifth win of the season.

The goals for Rodas and Wilson were their 10th of the season.

On Sunday, Nicholas Harris, Magnus Balakrishnan, and William Trolland each scored two goals, and Jake Gustafson, Christopher Tang, and Henry Goldman also scored, as the Canadians completed the weekend sweep. Joshua Read made 42 saves, including 18 in the second and 15 in the third.
