The U15 AAA Greater Vancouver Canadians dropped both games of a home-and-home series against the Valley West Giants over the weekend (Dec. 2-3), losing 5-3 and 6-4 to run their losing streak to four games.

The Canadians are now 5-10-0-1 on the season.

On Saturday at the Planet Ice Delta, the Canadians fell behind 4-0 in the second and went on to lose 5-3. Jake Gustafson scored for GVC in the second, before Austin Mukai and Lincoln Pavlich tallied in the third period. Pavlich’s goal was his first of the season.

On Sunday at the Richmond Oval, the Canadians rallied from a 3-0 deficit to take a 4-3 lead in the second, but the Giants scored three unanswered goals in the third to win 6-4 and complete the weekend sweep. William Trolland, Luke Wilson, Evan Borisoff, and Owen Chivers scored the GVC goals, with Chivers’ first goal of the season putting the Canadians ahead 4-3. The Giants, however, tied the game 4-4 just 59 seconds into the third, and they notched the game-winner with 14:58 remaining in regulation.

The Canadians currently sit in seventh place, and will face the sixth-place NW Hawks in a home-and-home seires on Dec. 16-17.
