U17 Canadians Pick Up One Point in Kamloops
The U17 AAA Greater Vancouver Canadians remain winless on the season, picking up a tie in a pair of games at Kamloops’ McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre against the Thompson Blazers.
The Canadians lost 7-5 on Saturday and played to a 2-2 tie on Sunday, despite holding leads in both contests. Trevor Chin had four goals in the two games.
On Saturday, Chin scored three goals for GVC in the second period, and the Canadians held 4-3 and 5-4 leads before Thompson scored the final three goals in the last 7:17 of the game. Connor Ma and Bruce Alexander McLeod had the other GVC goals.
On Sunday, Chin and Henry Goldman scored first-period goals, but the Blazers scored 35 seconds into the second period and 16 seconds into the third, as the two teams played to a 2-2 tie. D’Angelo Brual had a solid start in goal for the Canadians, picking up his second tie in four starts (0-2-2).
Chin’s four goals on the weekend give him five on the season, tops on the club, and his five points are tied with Connor Ma (1-4-5) for the team lead.
The U17 Canadians are one of three teams in the division still without a win (0-4-2), seventh in the standings.
